ELEV8TE
It’s time to elevate... It’s time to stop the hate
And change or fates... Before it’s too late
When I look out my window, what do I see ?
Death, destruction and poverty
And It bothers me, so I easily
Can change my perception of reality
But that’s a cop out, when you and me
Know what the world should really be
It’s not difficult for us believe
That what we want can be achieved
Starting with peace in the middle east
But what about the streets in our cities
Litter, we walk on at our feet
And blood flowing through them endlessly
We don’t have neighbors, we have enemies
With death and disease in our communities
No unity but adversity
And that’s why I wrote this verse you see...
It’s time to elevate... It’s time to stop the hate
And change or fates... Before it’s too late
How many people shall starve today
Because of the food that we throw away ?
how much money do we have to pay
Before we truly get to have a say ?
In foreign policy, cause it bothers me
How we don’t have a war on poverty
While I hear homeless people begging me
As I beg to see, a brand new legacy
And with hesitancy, it makes me real ill
How many clothes go to the “Goodwill”
That thrift stores flip to make a dollar bill
While the unclothed, stay naked still
Capitalism even in the church
How much is saving a soul really worth ?
How many millions go to doing dirt
While people still hurt, so we’ve got to do work...
It’s time to elevate... It’s time to stop the hate
And change or fates... Before it’s too late
Now, though there’s confusion, there’s a solution
Everybody has to step up to make a contribution
Then we won’t have to create an illusion
We can end Global Warming and the pollution
Cause for Fossil Fuels there is a solution
But it’s gonna take a U.N. resolution
Not just hoping and trusting evolution
We need an immediate revolution
And that even means inside our institutions
To create more Einsteins and Issac Newtons
And give birth to a world where nobody’s shootin
And nobody’s without, so nobody’s lootin’
And nobody’s sick cause their eating fruit and
There’s no more prisons nor executions
It’s not a delusion, it’s my conclusion
Just imagine a world without exclusions...
It’s time to elevate... It’s time to stop the hate
And change or fates... Before it’s too late

Early in Da Mornin'

EARLY IN DA MORNIN’
Well, I woke up early dis mornin’......Laying in my bed
And had this crazy tune.......Floating through my head
So I got outta bed.......and decided this is what I’d do
I decided I’d write this song....so now I’m singing it just for you
Early in da mornin’ (I’ve got to get up)
Early in da mornin’ (I’ve got to get up)
Early in da morning.....
They say it’s the early bird that catches the worm
And living day to day, this is what I’ve learned
So I never sleep in, not even until nine
I’m up at five in the morning...trying to get mine
Early in da mornin’ (I’ve got to get up)
Early in da mornin’ (I’ve got to get up)
Early in da morning...
So many people sleep in America everyday
And they just watch their dreams, just up and walk away
That’s why people, what you’ve got to choose
Is to wake up at the crack of dawn, that way you’ll never lose....
Early in da mornin’ (I’ve got to get up)
Early in da mornin’ (I’ve got to get up)
Early in da morning.....
I’ve always wanted to make it, in the recording industry
But there’s a million guys, out there just like me
Struggling hard...day in and day out
Sometimes I get so frustrated...I just wanna scream and shout
(but)
Early in da mornin’ (I still get up)
Early in da mornin’ (working on my music)
Early in da morning...(early in da morning)
Early in da mornin’ (I STILL get up)
Early in da mornin’ (working on my music)
Early in da morning.....
(scattin’)
YO my name is Tony B, and you know just where I be
With the pillow up under my head
Early in da morning lying in bed
Waking up at the crack of dawn and
Yo know that I’m yawnin’
Trying to put my clothes on and
Get out the house, early in da morning...

BE THE CHANGE (REMIXX)
06:53
|
|||
BE THE CHANGE (YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD)
When Sam Cooke said a change is gonna come
Now I know where he was coming from
The change in the world that we all wanna see
Starts right inside of both you and me
It’s not for free, but honestly
It’s our number one J-O-B, everyday of the week
How we walk, how we talk and how we speak
Determines our children’s destiny
But I’m blessed to be, that which I am
A man, with a plan to lend a helping hand
Understand...I used to fight
Stand around and talk about what isn’t right
But, I realize this and must admit
Focusing on it, only creates more of it
So, I had to get, away from complaining
For it’s draining and I’m aiming
For the top, the cosmos
And whatever we talk and think about the most
Comes to fruition, so just listen
It’s all about uplifting, so I’m on a mission
To unite, both day and night
And with this mic, be the light
Be the difference, be the example
For everybody else, but it starts with self
(REPEAT 2X)
SO, BE THE CHANGE, YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD...
BE THE CHANGE YOU WANNA SEE IN THE WORLD
BE THE CHANGE YOU WANNA SEE IN THE WORLD
We all love to talk about our ancestors
And how we owe them and want to live better
But are steadily facing stormy weather
And have to stand strong and be tougher than leather
Well, let me ask, is it a difficult task
To stop reliving the past, for the past has passed
And we’re creating the future, even though we don’t know it
With every passing moment, though some of us blow it
We’ve got to show it, yes we do
For the solution can be found in both me and you
True ? yes, that’s the truth
And the proof can be seen in the youth
Looking at us, some with disgust
Cause there’s just so much, that we’ve never discussed
So often in a rush, as we fuss and cuss
While “The Secret” we often keep on the hush
They do as we do, not as we say
So, what do they obey ? What they see everyday...
Hey ! So, we’ve got to wake up
For, there’s just so much lost time, we’ve got to make up
We’ve got to be role models for humanity
Cause repeating our failures is insanity
And so many have lied, cried and died
For the change, when the change starts inside...
(REPEAT 2X)
SO, BE THE CHANGE, YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD...
BE THE CHANGE YOU WANNA SEE IN THE WORLD
BE THE CHANGE YOU WANNA SEE IN THE WORLD
So, I ain’t waiting on a leader, nor a president
Nor another year will I be hesitant
Nor another day, nor another minute
Change is in the air, and I’ve got to get in it
I’ve got to be a part of what I wanna see
So, I can create a better world for you and me
Metaphysically, Spiritually
Politically, it’s not typically
The way we’ve been taught, but we must learn
The road has been laid, and it’s our turn
To manifest, cause we’re blessed, no contest...
We’re the best of the best
And we’ve got a real obligation
To change the situation, through elevation
Education, with no hesitation
Be the manifestation of divine creation
And that’s how we turn the world around
We’ve got to get up, so we can get down
So our children can experience a profound
Dimension based upon sights and sounds
That’s all about love, harmony and peace
Where joy and abundance is all they see
And yes indeed, all this I believe, can be
But it starts with you and me...
(REPEAT 2X)
SO, BE THE CHANGE, YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD...
BE THE CHANGE YOU WANNA SEE IN THE WORLD
BE THE CHANGE YOU WANNA SEE IN THE WORLD

STOP THAT !!!
I step to the mic, rip it real tight
And other emcees i see wanna fight
Like I think I’m all dat, nah I’m more than that
Whatever you think I am, yo I’m twice as phat
A real cool cat, as a matter of fact
Pockets stay packed, sistahs really stacked
That I attract, made into a mack
But you got flack, yo I got your back
So stop that, i cop that, I rock that, I got that, so get back
I kick that, I rip that, i did that, I live that, I love that
Brothas think I’m soft, But I’m not hard
i’m just a metaphysical man, made for GOD
You might think this is odd, but that’s my job
And the goddess I can see, even through the fog
Not a dog nor a hog
So quit gossiping on those blogs, come on ya’ll
If you wanna say something, sayi ti to my face
Stay off my twitter and my myspace
So stop that, i cop that, I rock that, I got that, so get back
I kick that, I rip that, i did that, I live that, I love that
You wanna find me come to AGAPE
You can catch me, on any given Sunday
Or on Wednesday, but that depends, say
I’m not in town, or putting it down, Hey !!!
I walk in the light, even on the mic
Educate the youth and have a lil tike
His name is HERU, about 2 years old
So i gots to get my money yo, get my money yo !!!
So stop that, i cop that, I rock that, I got that, so get back
I kick that, I rip that, i did that, I live that, I love that

CONSTANT ELEVATION
05:05
|

CONSTANT ELEVATION
It’s a celebration.....It doesn’t matter if you’re Black or Asian
Mexican or Caucasian...we’re trying to uplift the nation
It’s a celebration...and you know the situation
We’re trying to uplift the nation....with constant elevation...
See, the party didn’t start ‘til i walked in
But me I was led by the spirit within
So in the meantime and in between times
We’re gonna recognize what we see as divine
One kind, one mind, one movement aligned
No matter what you’re design, or zodiac sign
And I’m, all up in the rhyme
While some people got Bacardi, lookin’ for their lime
And some are smoking, while some are drinking
And some are drug-free like me and just thinking
This is an energy with so much to it
Water be the fluid, and like NIKE we do it
Clappin’, tappin’, snappin’, it happens
Everytime I start singing, scatting and rapping
But this right here has special motivation
It’s all about unity and reconciliation...
(cause) It’s a celebration.....It doesn’t matter if you’re Black or Asian
Mexican or Caucasian...we’re trying to uplift the nation
It’s a celebration...and you know the situation
We’re trying to uplift the nation....with constant elevation...
When’s the last time you heard somebody with clarity
Focus not on our differences, but simularities
It’s a rarity, but please don’t stare at me
I’m just prepared to be, he who gives to charities
If a meteor was headed towards the earth
Then how much would our differences really be worth
Step on the dirt, breathe in the air
And appreciate the beauty of life everywhere
We’ve got 2 million breaths, until there’s none left
About 800 months, until our life is done
So recognize that we’re ALL one
And give thanks for our time, under the sun
We’ve got a short time together, to make the planet better
We’re here for a little bit and it moves swift
So this is a declaration and a dedication
And a party for the people, cause we’re perfect creations
(and)
It’s a celebration.....It doesn’t matter if you’re Black or Asian
Mexican or Caucasian...we’re trying to uplift the nation
It’s a celebration...and you know the situation
We’re trying to uplift the nation....with constant elevation...
L-O-V-E...That’s what we be
Living on Vibrational Energy..ooh wee
S-O-U-L... Soul from above
We be sending out universal love
That’s what we’re made of, A-G-A-P-E
All Good And Positive Energy...ooh wee
immediately, we’ve gots to see
The whole universe is having a big party
You better ask somebody, check it out
From the east to the west, North and the south
The cosmos to the coral reef and ocean floor
Everybody’s knock, knocking on heaven’s door
Need I say more ? That’s what we’re living for
PEACE, so we ain’t going to war, no more
It’s all about education and self-evaluation
No more hesitation, but acceleration...
It’s a celebration.....

BUS STOP

BUS STOP
Little Yvette sits at the bus stop
Hoping that she can make the pain stop
Hiding her tears in the raindrops
Hoping that it’ll make the pain stop...
A little girl in a grown up world
Used to be daddies only little girl
But trying to pay the rent, got him sent
To a cell, where all she sees is his mail
Hell, and if that ain’t hell
mommas got cancer and ain’t feeling well
Too many of those cigarette packs
And drinking Jack Daniels mixed with Exlax
Got her on her back and if that ain’t wack
Brother just got attacked with a gat
Trying to be the man, selling that crack rock
But he got caught, not on a Black block
So he got a chance to hear a gat talk
Before they outlined his body with fat chalk
So now she sits in the world all alone
On her way to school, but has no home
Little Yvette sits at the bus stop
Hoping that she can make the pain stop
Hiding her tears in the raindrops
Hoping that it’ll make the pain stop...
She’s good at science, reading and writing
And thought that her future would be exciting
She had a dream of becoming a doctor
Or a lawyer, but what is there for her
When she has no money and is in poverty
And wears the same clothes every day of the week
She doesn’t have nothing to eat and get’s teased
By other kids, cause of what they see
She wishes she could just fly away
And start a life in a brand new place
Where nobody knows her name and face
And her past could be totally erased
Where she could begin a brand new life
Without all of the struggle and strife
And her family could once again be together
And her situation could be much better...
but...
Little Yvette sits at the bus stop
Hoping that she can make the pain stop
Hiding her tears in the raindrops
Hoping that it’ll make the pain stop...
So she’s sitting there day and night
And won’t go to school, cause it doesn’t feel right
And people come and go and cars pass by
Yet all she does is continue to cry
Stuck in a daze, as guys pull up
Older than her in brand new trucks
And try to talk to her, but what for ?
She’s still a virgin, she ain’t no whore
But they keep on trying , and their bold
Telling her she needs to get out of the cold
But her spirit keeps telling her no
Plus she’s only 15 years old
If only somebody could help her today
If only she knew god was on the way
If only more of us would look around
There’s probably Yvette(s) all over town

F.L.O.W
Everybody needs to flow like the river
Everybody on the planet should be a giver
Everybody should want to be delivered
A little bit of love, at least a little sliver
So this is for those who globally
Focus only on showing the
Simularities and positivity
That lies deep inside of both you and me
For the lil’ girl in Harlem, jumping rope
For those in China that still have hope
For the children in Iraq and Iran
Who have toys and not guns in thier hands
For all of the billions of sports fans
Who celebrate the strength of a woman and man
And if you still don’t fully understand
It’s F.L.O.W., an acronym
So...Feel the Love all Over the World... Feel the Love all Over the World
Just ... Feel the Love All Over the World...Feel the Love all Over the World
In Africa, a student’s up late
Trying to make his country feel proud & great
In America, a doctor’s trying to create
A cure for a disease, so he’s awake
In Europe, somebody’s thinking about peace
Brought by OBAMA’s presidency
While in Japan, A man is happily fishin’
Cause in life, he’s found his mission
In France, somebody’s doing Graffiti Art
That spreads the love that’s in their heart
In Mexico, a girl looks up at the sky
And dreams about being able to fly
While in Palestine, A baby is born
Making the parents forget about the war
And that’s what the planet is here for
So, close your eyes and let’s take a tour..,
So...Feel the Love all Over the World... Feel the Love all Over the World
Just ... Feel the Love All Over the World...Feel the Love all Over the World
Now you can flow, right where you’re at
Just sit down and arch your back
Cross your legs, open your palms
And breathe in, nice and calm
Feel the vibration on earth
While in the grass or on the dirt
Just shut your lids and you will see
The way this globe was intended to be
let your spirit leave your shell
And go to the places where love dwells
Now focus on filling up yourself
Then transfer it to everybody else
Now visualize all of the children
Then ypou’ll see the whole planet healing
And you’ll see what god’s revealing
As you get a feeling that’s so appealing... just flow
So...Feel the Love all Over the World... Feel the Love all Over the World
Just ... Feel the Love All Over the World...Feel the Love all Over the World

CARDBOARD
B-boys...get on the floor
It’s time to show these krumpers we’re at war
Hip Hop started in the street
Pumas with fat laces on our feet
Kangols on our heads, Gazelles on our face
Coming to the party to krush the place
Or rocking the block or in the park
With denim jackets with graffitti art
Stand in a circle, fat belt buckle
With finger name plates right on the knuckles
Levi’s or Sweats it really don’t matter,
As long as your gold rope is bigger and fatter
The whole crew is chilling and we’re all ready
With the ghtto blaster loud and heavy
So let’s serve these suckers, what we waiting for
Will somebody just pull out the cardboard
Uprock, uprock, down to the ground
Footwork, footwork, now spin around
Top rock, top rock, now do some swipes
Into a helicopter, now that’s hype
Backspin, backspin and then freeze
Then drop back down to your knees
Do some footwork into a flare
Then spin your body in the air
Into a fast barrel windmill
Now a headspin, man...that’s ill
Then freeze in mid air, up on your head
Serving them fools, HIP HOP AINT DEAD
Krumpin’ and Jerkin’s cool but they ain’t got no skills
Only B-boys can keep it real
We the street dancers who win awards
So if they want it, we’ll break out the cardboard....

In Flight

IN FLIGHT
The French Riviera, what a place
Eiffel Tower all up in my face
Traveling fast on the Euro Trans
Touching the windows with my hands
12 hour flight to the other side
Get on a bus and take a long ride
PARIS, the city of lights
Nobody speaks english, but I’m alright
It’s almost night, but I have no fright
Cause to my queen, I’m in flight
If I can find her in her burrough
In her hood, while I have Euros
Then my trip will be real thorough
As from America, I’m on furlough...
Les Nubians, Floetry
This is how I imagine my queen to be
International, Yes indeed
Well cultured, I do believe
Chased after by all the guys
Can cook me more than just french fries
An AFRICAN GODDESS, so advanced
That she’s a sistah, who lives in FRANCE
Fashion designer, who knows museums
And has no problem taking me to see them
Mountain tops, snow caps
Secluded places we can relax
Watching sunsets, I’ve never known
As I reminisce about coming home
Meditating in the FRENCH ALPS
As the countryside removes all doubts
And my spirit soars like a kite
Don’t worry baby, I’m in flight...
I met her on MYSPACE and fell in love
Tell me what I was thinking of
I came all the way around the world
To be the clam for her pearls
One friend request, lotsa comments
22 messages that were all honest
16 e-mails, 9 phone calls
4 letters sent to her, i’ve got balls
1 passport, no visa
This is what I did to see her
2 plane tickets, both round trip
! long bus ride and what did I get ?
I got there and i wanted to be sick
Cause the whole damn thing was a trick
A vacant address, yo what a sight
I’m on my way home...I’m in flight...

L-O-V-E
Light Over Virtually Everybody
Ask somebody, I guess I’m Godly
But quite oddly, nice and naughty
Living on vibrations and sensations
Taking long Hatian vacations
But no meat do I devour
Celery carrots and califlower
Living off solar power
With a light so bright like a meteor shower
Running my ride with bio fuel
Its environmental and plus its cool
Kinda old school, But I ain’t no fool
Love all the ladies but I ain’t no tool
This ain’t MTV nor VH1
Just somebody’s son , powered by the SUN
The wind the water and the earth
Hugging trees and playing in the dirt
Talking to the birds and they sing to me
With L-O-V-E
And my heart smiles, my spirit soars
For that’s what I do this for
For some its the power and the game
And others it’s the material things
While me I’m living just like a king
On this vibration that gives me wings...

Just Bounce
04:15
|

JUST BOUNCE (and let your head nod)
If you’ve got this in your car on your way to work
And you’re dressed in a tie and a button up shirt
JUST BOUNCE....AND LET YOUR HEAD NOD
If you’re in a tight skirt and on the bus
And it’s in your IPOD and you’re in a rush
JUST BOUNCE....AND LET YOUR HEAD NOD
If you’re rollin on your bike or headed to school
Dressed real fly, and playing it cool
JUST BOUNCE....AND LET YOUR HEAD NOD
If you’re getting off work and in your car
Stuck at the light, headed to the bar
JUST BOUNCE....AND LET YOUR HEAD NOD
If you’re fresh to death, headed to the club
Knowing that your fit they just gonna love
JUST BOUNCE....AND LET YOUR HEAD NOD
If you’re way more than a dime, more like a quarter
And if you’re making dudes skin turn to warm water
JUST BOUNCE....AND LET YOUR HEAD NOD
If you know you looking good fresh nails and hair
And the brothas can’t do nothing but stop and stare
JUST BOUNCE....AND LET YOUR HEAD NOD
Now if you’re hearing this rhyme for the first time
And you’re loving this beat and voice of mine
JUST BOUNCE....AND LET YOUR HEAD NOD
I was sitting in the back, in the crack, in the cut
Seen the strut and the butt, and was like WHAT ?
It was nuts, I had guts, so I got up
To get a lil touch in my cup...WHATTUP ?
I spoke, she smoked, she toked, she choked
Asked me did I want a hit ...I said NOPE... No dope...
Like the pope, I’m the hope and the soap on the rope
But I had to get close so i could scope
Not my type, with a pipe, couldn’t be my wife
But the baddest queen I ever seen in my life
Not tonight, it wasn’t right even with the moonlight
And a appetite, that might be love at first sight
Not quite, even in her all white
And a body like a Maserati, just that tight
I was hype, but didn’t think twice when a knife
Was pulled by a guy who wanted my ice
He held the dice, and gave me advice
He said this is my wife and he wanted to fight
That’s when I, couldn’t lie, had an alibi, Why?
I approached kinda shy... but, she was fly
I said to the guy, I can’t deny, my, my, my
Attraction, she caught my eye...goodbye
(and he said) JUST BOUNCE....AND LET YOUR HEAD NOD
YOU JUST BOUNCE...AND LET YOUR HEAD NOD

P.E.A.C.E
I met this girl the other day, straight from the east
Some people call her ISLAM, but her name was PEACE
Some call her CHRIST, KRISHNA and BUDDHA
But you wouldn’t need to call her if you really knew her
You would go inside, think of her and be aware
Close your eyes tightly and she’d be there
Some feel they need to find her in their friends
A soulmate, a crack pipe, or a syringe
A bottle of beer, a shot of alcohol
And some be looking for her in a bathroom stall
Writing on the wall, playing basketball
While others find her just by giving a call
To a family member, or in December
Reminiscing on memories, that they remember
Holidays, lotsa love and a big feast
She said that’s where you’ll always find me....so....PEACE !!!
PEACE IS OMNIPRESENT, AND IN THE AIR
IT’S Positive Energy Always Circulating Everywhere
So, we kept on talking and she told me
That her sister was LOVE, and her best homie
Was CONTENTMENT, commitment to being in bliss
But most people searching for her didn’t recognize this
Some be looking for her in the weirdest places
But PEACE was nameless, tasteless and faceless
And hate-less, disgrace-less and what’s even more
Some try to find PEACE by going to war
WAR ? No matter what.... she said to me
That killing never brought her she’d only flee
Retreat the other way, death and decay
Never brought her, but really fought her, but maybe someday
Leaders and soldiers control would cease
And they’d sit down with their enemies, and then they’d bring ....PEACE
PEACE IS OMNIPRESENT, AND IN THE AIR
IT’S Positive Energy Always Circulating Everywhere
So I continued to have this conversation
With PEACE, cause she came through meditation
And visualization, her occupation
Was to bring harmony to every nation
She said since the beginning of time
She’s always been sought by the divine
Lived for, explained and often obtained
By silencing the brain, and being well trained
All around the planet, the animals and rainforests
ISIS, OSIRUS, HERU AND HORUS
India, the DALAI LAMA, even BARACK OBAMA
Searched for her, and didn’t want no drama
MANDELA, MLK and the self defense
Of MALCOLM X searching for PEACE makes sense
The NOBEL PRIZE for her, makes them discuss this
And of course, her twin sibling named JUSTICE
DARFUR, IRAQ, IRAN, AFGANISTAN
Are all looking for her, man...
Interpretation in this millenium
Gentile or Jew, ask the Palestinians
Spirituality, or through exile
Newly born baby, eyes of a child
innocent child or not until deceased
We are all searching for her, now... And her name is PEACE....
PEACE IS OMNIPRESENT, AND IN THE AIR
IT’S Positive Energy Always Circulating Everywhere

ROLLIN’
If you wanna know who I be, I be the one with the product
Who be slanging and hanging them, just like narcotics
But I don’t hustle green, nor distribute the yay
No X, no pills for bills, no no way
I be slanging cotton tees and c.d’s
DVDs, fly art and hot beats like these
I be wrapping them up and folding them
I got stores barcoding them
Sometimes I be at shows and expos straight throwin them
People be knowing them, cause I be sewing them
And I’ve invested so much time & dough in them...
Rollin’ rollin, big money foldin
They don’t know how much loot we be foldin’
Rollin, rollin, festival patrollin
While I be living my life like it’s golden
I be wherever the livest events be at
Pulling up in my van with product stacked in the back
Damn, I be in states that some wouldn’t go
But if there’s a college, they’ve got knowledge and there’s dough
So, i’ve got to go get it, yea I must admit it
When it comes to this life, I’m pretty much committed
Wit it and gots to steady spit it
I’m making lotsa money and people don’t know how I did it
Me and my partners took on the OBAMA campaign
Man, what a game and I’ll never be the same
Buttons, t-shirts, hats and keychains
Flags and bags, man I hate to brag
But for two years straight, we was getting our loot
With Obama hoodies, beanies and sweatsuits
Me, I didn’t invest like I should’ve,
Like I would’ve, like i could’ve
Damn It was so good I
Should’ve put something away in the recession
It was a blessing, but I’ve done learned my lesson
I’ll never blow my money as fast as I get it
On hotels, rental cars, and airplane tickets
I’ll never not put away half up front
Or pay my bills, before the first month
Never a fool twice only foolish once
Not a dunce, not out to lunch, cause to be blunt
Rollin’ rollin, big money foldin
They don’t know how much loot we be foldin’
Rollin, rollin, festival patrollin
While I be living my life like it’s golden
So now I be up north, down south & in the middle
Where the festivals be hot and the attendance be like riddles
You never know what you’ll get, sometime you make it out
With a wad, or oh my god you might get chased out
Rollin to Toronto, pronto or to the ATL
Then back to D.C. with lotsa product to sell
Then to New Orleans, all the way back to Arizona
And the next week I’m headed to California
Up to Seattle, across to Denver
And out to Chicago by mid September
Then Back to Oakland come November
And down to San Diego right before December
Then I’ll take a rest and back to Ohio
To see my son, my number one and give him some dough
And all of this I must insist or I must confess
Is all done wit no auditing by the I.R.S (cause I’m)
Rollin’ rollin, big money foldin
They don’t know how much loot we be foldin’
Rollin, rollin, festival patrollin
While I be living my life like it’s golden

BRING THE FUNK BACK...
Do you remember the funk back in the day ?
Like ISAAC HAYES, MARVIN GAYE, THE BAR-KAYS ?
THE GAP BAND, KOOL & THE GANG...
JAMES BROWN, RICK JAMES
EARTH, WIND & FIRE, taking us higher
All with sounds we could admire
Back when R&B, funk and soul
Wasn’t like this pollution on our radios
These cats today, ain’t from the streets
All they do is sing over HIP HOP beats
None of them, now can play instruments
It ain’t like BOOTSY and PARLIMENT
Or GEORGE CLINTON, or ASHFORD & SIMPSON
Or the COMMODORES or even WAR
So, what they doing it for ? I don’t understand
I’d much rather listen to the AVERAGE WHITE BAND
BRING THE FUNK BACK...
Remember STEVE ARRINGTON & SLAVE
GRAHAM CENTRAL STATION and HEATWAVE
SLY and the FAMILY STONE on the microphone
And CHAKA KHAN, where have they gone ?
I guess it wasn’t really that cool
When they took band and music out of the schools
They left the children with no tools
And that’s when electronics began to rule
But I still remember ROGER & ZAPP
CAMEO. THE DAZZ BAND way before rap
JOHNNY “GUITAR” WATSON, ROSE ROYCE
MAZE & LAKESIDE gave us a chance
Even the voice of STEVIE WONDER
But tell me has the FUNK really gone under ?
Bring the funk back,,,
Like DONNIE HATHAWAY, man where is the love ?
TOWER OF POWER and the deep funk of
THE ISLEY BROTHERS and OHIO PLAYERS
There’s got to be more than just rhyme sayers...
THE BROTHERS JOHNSON and the J.B.’s
There has to be some groups like these
But All I hear is the fake crooners
No emotion, they’re AUTO TUNERS
Fixing their voices in the studio
But I’d rather hear the METERS or BLOODSTONE
THE DAZZ BAND or CHUCK BROWN
The HEADHUNTERS or the S.O.S. sound
BT EXPRESS or TOM BROWNE
“Funkin’ for Jamaica”, a real music maker
MIDNIGHT STAR, MOTHER’S FINEST and all of that
Even L.T.D., just BRING THE FUNK BACK
