about

This Song is dedicated to the Lives and deaths of unarmed, innocent BLACK PEOPLE at the hands of Police officers and other people who feel that BLACK LIVES DON'T MATTER.

lyrics

I CAN'T BREATHE

I woke up this morning, straight suffocating
Thinking how many years, all my people been so patient
From the first time we got snatched, Beat and hung
Brutalized in Africa, the women, men and the young

Taken us on ships, Chained, cold and dark
All the Way to America, sometimes fed to the Sharks
Then finally, A little freedom, after so many years
So many Brutal deaths and so many tears

We dying but been dying at our oppressors hands
Call it what you want, but ain't gonna front about this WHITE MAN
He's been killing us, since we first met and it's really affecting me...
So i woke up this Morning, holding my throat, Screaming...I CAN'T BREATH !!!

Chorus:
I can hear my brother crying, I CAN'T BREATHE
Now I'm in the struggle and I can't leave
Calling out the Violence of these racist police
We ain't gonna stop till our people are free

Now Police Brutality has been going on & on
It didn't start last year or with Oscar Grant and Trayvon
There's so many names to name, it would take me All day
Every since the Very beginning, they've been doing us that way

Shooting us down, Beating us down, un armed and black
We still Public Enemy number one and aint no time to relax
We migrated from the South to the North, to escape all of the rapes
The murders and the lynchings, and we're still in bad shape

Police have had the right to kill us, since way before JIM CROW
Black lives ain't NEVR mattered to them, but ya'll don't hear me though
I thought it would be a little better though, with a black president
Maybe White America would chill out, but they ain't even hesitant...

They still killing us, now more than ever, and I can't believe
OBAMA ain't even stopping it, so Damn...i CAN'T BREATHE !!!

Chorus:
I can hear my brother crying, I CAN'T BREATHE
Now I'm in the struggle and I can't leave
Calling out the Violence of these racist police
We ain't gonna stop till our people are free

It's like the Civil Rights Era, all over again
Cause they shooting down our babies, not just Women and Men
Now, what do you tell a child, on the way to school ?
When these cops see them as the enemy and act a damn fool ?

Do you keep them inside or Tell the run and Hide ?
Or teach them how to shoot Back and put A gun on their side ?
I don't know...Non-violence... Just don't seem to work
Cause we're the only Non-violent ones and we keep getting hurt

Maybe our BEST defense is SELF defense, that's just common sense
Otherwise, before our eyes, this will just commence
How many years, how many deaths before we TRULY know
This is how they feel about the BLACK MAN, The African, The NEGRO

THIS HOW WE'RE GETTING TREATED and until we are truly free
No Justice, No Peace, FUCK the Police, But damn...i JUST CAN'T BREATHE !!!

Chorus:
I can hear my brother crying, I CAN'T BREATHE
Now I'm in the struggle and I can't leave
Calling out the Violence of these racist police
We ain't gonna stop till our people are free
