Though many people were looking at him strange
When he started talking about bringing change
And people started coming out to vote
And reading his book “THE AUDACITY OF HOPE”
Just one of two that he has wrote
And “DREAMS OF MY FATHER” was also dope
And for them he’s won two grammy awards
But people dug the fact he was against the war
When it was something HILLARY voted for
And it was a fact that couldn’t be ignored
It was judgement, at the right moment
But back then, he didn’t know it
He just followed his heart, not what they were selling
And now in every city, everybody’s yelling...

So, the first victory was in IOWA

Doing anything along political lines
Fine, it was new, but it turned out great
Cause he won one of the whitest states
And by the time, he got to his first debate
Even the pundits, just couldn’t wait
To see, he, with positivity
Be, calm and cool, while MS. HILLARY
Attacked and hacked sarcastically
With negativity, while gymnastically
He flipped over all of her blows
And said he’d love to talk to our foes
But why she got bitter, nobody knows
Jealousy and hatred, I suppose
But he kept his composure, got exposure
And came out on top when it was over
While she tried every dirty trick in the book
Lying & cheating, but still got shook
And her contributions started slowing
And the OBAMA campaign kept on growing
While not taking PAC money, he wasn’t hoeing
But, all across the country, people were going...

As we were trying to phone canvas
And taking lists and going door to door
Asking people who they were voting for
And sometimes, we’d get ignored
But it was the bomb, how many votes we scored
Saying AMERICA is our residence
And it’s time for a brand new president
And it’s all about love not about hate
So, vote for OBAMA and we’ll be straight
And some would hesitate, but they knew the truth
And couldn’t resist when they saw the youth
And then saw the old, who were very bold
And also saw the mama’s out there for OBAMA
And we even had REPUBLICANS
Switching parties and lovin’ him
While setting up tables and chairs at rallies
Getting people’s info and keeping tallies
And registering people to vote
And having study groups on “THE AUDACITY OF HOPE”
E-mail blasting, we’re everlasting
And posing questions, that needed askin’
Working and working, Tirelessly
To get BARACK to the presidency
And most volunteers were working for free
So we came up with things artistically
To make sure that we were able to eat
And survive financially
Using all of our abilities
To crearte OBAMA SWAG with agility
While increasing the visibility
Yet doing it with humility
Cause most of us weren’t making nothin’
But gave up our lives, to do a lil’ something
But still had bills, yo I ain’t bluffin
So we started making T-shirts and buttons
Bags and bracelets, cause yo face it
The campaign gear needed a facelift
And product placement, so in our basements
We made stuff, better than what they sent
Dang, we weren’t capitalists
Just creative supporters, who were activists
Making people hyped up and making things happen
While singing, chanting and freestyle rappin’
And keeping it live, while volunteering
And constantly hearing, the supporters cheering...
