Now what I’m about to say may be controversial
But hell, I’m TONY B. CONSCIOUS and the truth ain’t never been commercial
I’ve though about it, raked my mind and I’m thorroughly convinced
It took a sistah like KATRINA to bring down WILLIE LYNCH...

COMING IN LIKE A WHIRLWIND, ancestors once made a vow
Following the slave routes, I see GARVEY smiling right now
NEGROES, NIGGAHS, HANKERCHIEFS and even SELLOUTS
United finally when the bottom of the country fell out

Can you imagine CHUCK D and PAUL MOONEY on t.v. with CONGALEEZ
LIL JOHN, MARY J, STEVE HARVEY, MONIQUE AND QUEEN LATIF
Some so disconnected to what our ancestors lost
Now can feel and experience exactly what it cost

So some of us can truly feel and empathize with sistah KATRINA
And I know you may not overstand, but I’m truly convinced
It took a sistah like KATRINA, to bring down WILLIE LYNCH...

No more coonin’, competing, ballin’ nor bling, blingin’
I seen hardcore rappers, gospel preachers, lawyers and teachers, crying and singing
U-N-I-T-Y right before our eyes
It took a castrophe to make the deaf, dumb and blind realize

We’ve been in trouble, but I must confess
The Universal Laws of Karma put our hearts to the test
Hopefully this will light up the Uncle Toms
Can You imagine 1.5 million given back by VIACOM

B.E.T., WALT DISNEY, and TOMMY HILFIGURE
Corporate, Middle Class, and bourgie house niggahs
All cohesive and solid, like dried cement
Finally reckognizing what we meant to this government

Genocide,,, for black pride will you kill for the cause ?
Shoot at helicopters ? Like a real Hiphoppa ?
S.O.S, save ourselves, cause divide and conquer’s a past tense
And it took a sistah like Katrina, to kill WILLIE LYNCH...

UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDE WE FALL
So pick up the phone, when your people call

The Veil has been lifted, paradigm has been shifted
Even those artistically gifted, know who they need to get with
But it takes a cotastrophe, for us to see
That we about 400 years late on Black Unity

Cause it took a sistah like KATRINA to take out WILLIE LYNCH...
